About Me

Hola, my name is Mónica Vidaña and I run Hola Keynsham.

I am a native Spanish speaker qualified to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language, and I have been teaching Spanish to adult students since 2017.

I was born in Barcelona many years ago and lived there until I was 19. I studied Librarianship in the University of Barcelona and in 1998 I completed my MA in Library and Information Management in the University of Northumbria at Newcastle. Since then I worked in various libraries and information centres in Dublin, London and Bristol.

In 2017 I decided to change career so that I could spend more time with my family. I started running some private Spanish classes for adults and A-level students which I really enjoyed. My students´ positive feedback encouraged me to train to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language, which I did with specialist languages school International House. I successfully completed the following courses:
  • Certificado de Profesor de Español - Spanish Teacher Certificate (completed March 2018)
  • La gramática en la clase de ELE - Grammar in Spanish class (completed May 2018)
  • ELE para Niños - Spanish Foreign Language for Children (completed March 2019)
In addition to my experience running evening courses in Keynsham, I have worked as a Spanish A-Level conversation assistant in St Brendan´s College (2016-17), and as a Spanish tutor in Bath College (2018-19).
